GOOGLE I/O 2023 Updates: Bard, the tech giant's arsenal in the AI war, will get upgraded generative AI capabilities as a result of Google's collaboration with Adobe. Firefly, Adobe's AI tool for media content generation through artificial intelligence, will be fused in Bard, according to TechCrunch.
Undergoing beta testing at present, the model will turn into a "premier generative AI partner" for Bard, citing Adobe, the report adds. For background on competition, Microsoft's Bing Image Creator, which squeezes power from OpenAI's DALL-E is available for users for a while now.
"The partnership between Google and Adobe brings the best model designed to be commercially safe closer to the best search engine and enables Bard customers to tap into the power of Firefly — creating, styling and taking their content to the next level by using Adobe Express."Alexandru Costin, VP of Adobe's generative AI initiatives, told the news outlet.
"Say, for example, you’re opening a yoga studio and want to create a social media ad for new customers. You can get inspired by asking Bard to generate an image like a “giraffe doing a yoga pose," Adobe added in a blog.
Adobe, further shared that Firefly would source the "text-to-image capabilities" of Google Bard. A user can input text in a sentence to allow the AI model to help decipher user needs. The beta tool Firefly is trained on "hundreds of millions" of photos from Adobe Stock, which as per the company is one of the highest-quality image libraries in the market. Firefly is trained to generate copyright-free materials, the blog post adds. Adobe launched the Adobe Firefly beta in March.
Meanwhile, Bing Image Creator has been on a roll since its release to testers. It uses OpenAI's DALL-E's brain to generate output from user input. The tool has been received well by users across the globe.
