AI Impact Summit India newsIndian AI company Sarvam AI and HMD Global, the Finland-based tech firm, have joined hands and have confirmed a collaboration that would bring "AI Chat" to HMD and Nokia feature devices. This announcement was made at the AI Impact Summit that is currently going on in full swing in Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The Expo began on February 16 and is slated to run for 6 days that will bring together a tapestry of tech and AI leaders and experts from all over the world.
This new announcement by Sarvan is a step in the right direction as big tech moves to integrate their AI suits with everyday-use objects like mobile phones. Apart from their collaboration with HMD, Sarvam is all set to bring its AI systems to vehicle infotainment systems as well. Additionally, the firm has also showcased its AI smartglasses called Kaze.
Sarvam To Go Global With HMD And More
The partnership between Sarvan, the indigenous AI firm, and HMD, the Finnish tech company, was announced via a post on X (Twitter). This collaboration will bring Sarvam AI's chatbot and other AI features to HMD and Nokia feature handsets. This will be a welcome move, as it will eliminate the need to own an expensive gizmo like a high-end phone or laptop and will bring the use of AI to greater masses.
HMD Global has confirmed that users can have real-time conversations with the installed AI chatbot. On top of this, Sarvam’s conversational AI assistant, which is set to roll out on HMD and Nokia feature phones, will support multiple languages. This will allow users to ask questions and receive responses in the language they are most comfortable with. However, the Finnish tech firm has not yet revealed which regional languages will be included.
The announcement was made at the ongoing AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, according to a TechCrunch report. During the presentation, Sarvam’s Head of Edge AI spoke about the company’s broader ambitions for edge, or on-device, AI. The vision, he said, is to integrate AI into “every phone, laptop, car, and even the new generation of devices.”
The statement also hinted that Sarvam’s AI tools could eventually power upcoming AI smart glasses and even vehicle infotainment systems, suggesting that the company’s plans extend far beyond feature handsets.
This news came after the Indian AI firm announced that it is now pushing forward towards manufacturing "AI-first" devices. The company also put forth its AI smartglasses at the expo, being called the Sarvam Kaze, and they are slated to drop in May. Although many details of the product still remain behind the curtains, and we will have to wait a bit for official information to come out. This device will allow users to have conversations with the AI assistant, and people can interact with it and ask queries about the object in front.
