JE Technology Desk: The graph of online dating is on the rise lately with the popularity of apps such as Tinder and Bumble. However, it can be a challenging task to land the right match on these apps. But AI is mending this gap to some extent for men, a new study suggests.

In a survey conducted by Attractiontruth, an AI-Powered Dating Assistant, to understand the use of AI technology in online dating among male users, researchers discovered that 1 in 5 men actively use AI to supercharge their online dating skills, according to Business Insider. The top-used dating app was Tinder, followed by Bumble and Hinge.

The survey found that AI helps them personalise their opening messages to a new level. It helps them craft "captivating" and "tailored" messages. It also saves time as it helps during initial chats and icebreakers, vacating extra minutes for "meaningful" interactions.

According to the research, the ones using AI tools experience a "remarkable boost" in response rates. It optimises message delivery that captures the attention of the matches and leverages engaging interactions.

The benefits don't end here. As AI gets the starters right, individuals feel more confident in their way forward. A total of 37 per cent of the survey users agreed that they "feel more confident" with the opposite gender after using AI. Around 24 per cent noticed improvements in messaging skills as a ripple effect.

"Our findings highlight that users who communicated in a manner that promoted respect, honesty, and positivity had a positive impact not only on their own experience but also on the recipients of AI-crafted messages, particularly women," said Salvatore Damiata, cofounder, Attractiontruth, as per Insider.

The study also highlighted the ethical and privacy concerns that bundle the use of AI in online dating that collects data of users to process better results. Attractiontruth offered suggestions to app developers that include introducing AI-powered tools natively, focusing on the privacy and data security of a user and maintaining the right balance of automation and human touch.

Online dating is not among the first landscape to witness the after-effects of AI. The healthcare and education sector have also seen innovation with the launch of ChatGPT and other AI tools.
