ARTIFICIAL intelligence has been the hotbed of headlines lately due to its groundbreaking possibilities. But Apple boss Tim Cook believes it has a number of issues that need redressal. However, the potential of AI is "very interesting," he notes. According to reports, the Apple CEO asserted the statement during Apple's quarterly earnings call on Thursday.

The chief of the Cupertino, California-based tech giant iterated that Apple products use AI in features like fall/crash detection and health monitoring across its highly reputed Apple Watch and iPhone. Additionally, Apple will continue to deploy AI across its product catalogue on a "very thoughtful basis."

"We've obviously made enormous progress, integrating AI and machine learning throughout our ecosystem. And we weaved it into products and features for many years," citing Cook, Mint reported. "We view AI as huge, and we will continue weaving it into our products on a very thoughtful basis," Cook added, Cook said, as per Mashable India.

However, he declined to share a detailed roadmap of how Apple will go about adopting AI into its product basket on similar lines as Microsoft.

Apple has been liberal on AI deployment into its products, unlike tech giants like Microsoft and Google, which aggressively make headlines for AI infusion. Amid the rise of the use of artificial intelligence products and services, no technological gathering misses out on comments concerning artificial intelligence.

Meanwhile, AI turned into a keyword for tech reports since the announcement of the language model ChatGPT by OpenAI last year. But top tech CEOs have alarmed concerns due to its potential misuse. Tech chiefs worldwide further signed an open letter to pause the training of such models in the past.

Speaking of other updates on Apple, the company is set to host the WWDC 2023 in June. The tech giant may announce a flurry of software and hardware products at the tech occasion. A list of likely launches ranges across iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14, watchOS 10, tvOS17 and its highly-anticipated AR/VR headset. Besides these, reports hint that Apple might announce the 15-inch MacBook Air.
