JE Technology Desk: While smartphone companies such as OnePlus, iQOO, Nothing, and more have partnered with Google to bring Android 14 Beta on their handsets, Samsung could follow the same path next month, according to SamMobile. The South Korean giant will likely announce the testing of the new OneUI 6.0 beta with Android 14.
As per the report, the beta program may roll out in the Samsung Galaxy S23 series in the third week of July. Other handsets will receive the update "soon thereafter," the platform reported.
Samsung is already updating apps to support OneUI 6.0, and compatible smartphones may soon get the update, the report added. The stable release is expected to roll out by the end of 2023. For comparison, the smartphone company released OneUI 5.0 based on Android 13 in August last year, a few days ahead of the launching Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5.
OneUI 6.0 Beta: Eligible Samsung Smartphones
The tech giant will first bring Android 14 to the latest flagship Galaxy S23, S23 Plus and S23 Ultra smartphones.
Moreover, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 are no-brainers to receive the update. Speaking of mid-rangers, Samsung Galaxy A54 could join the race.
The S22 and S21 series smartphones will likely get the stable OneUI 6.0 build. Foldable phones, including Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 and later, could receive the update. Many A, M, and F series phones will get the update. However, do note Samsung has not shared any update regarding the release of the new version of any of these devices.
Android 14 Release Date
Android 14 Beta 3 is currently live for Pixel users. It has finally entered the 'Platform Stability' phase. The stable build of Android 14 will start rolling out in August this year. The company is beta testing the package of Android 14 with new features currently.
Coming to Samsung, July will be a busy month for the South Korean giant as the company will announce the latest Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 foldable smartphones at the Unpacked event.
