Speaking of the reasons, the report stated that Google usually chooses Monday as the new Android release date but this time it’s Columbus Day, a holiday on Monday, October 14 so the company will be releasing the Android 15 a day later. The delay will give Google more time to churn out the bugs in the software and make sure it is a smooth rollout.

Android 15 Supported Devices:

The report stated that the Android 15 will first roll out to the Pixel devices that are powered by the Tensor chipset. It means Pixel 6 series, Pixel 7 series, Pixel 8 series and Pixel 9 series will be getting the Android 15 update first.

However, the report did not mention about when other tech giants including Samsung, Vivo, Oppo, OnePlus and others will roll out their customised Android 15 versions. Interestingly, Samsung intended to roll out OneUI 7 which is based on Android 15 in July but got delayed.

Android 15 Features:

The new Android 15, codenamed Vanilla Ice Cream, brings a variety of new features like partial screen sharing, satellite connectivity, new camera controls, sensitive notifications, Bluetooth popup dialog, high-quality webcam mode, Health Connect, loudness control, Bluetooth auto-on, new colour contrast, lockdown mode, home controls screensaver along with some smaller changes.
