Apple has juat launched its virtual shopping service, Shop with a Specialist over Video, in India. The feature will allow users to connect with an Apple team member through a secure, one-way video call for personalised help with product selection—all without leaving home.
India becomes only the second country in the world to get this service, highlighting Apple’s increasing retail investment in the region. The launch follows the recent rollout of the Apple Store app in India, reinforcing the company’s efforts to expand its digital retail footprint in one of its fastest-growing markets.
Through this new service, users visiting Apple's online India website can schedule or instantly begin a video session with an Apple Specialist to browse products—including the latest iPhone 16 series—compare models, ask about trade-in options, or get help with financing plans. The customer remains on audio, while the Apple Specialist appears on video to walk through the available products and options. The service is currently offered in English and is compatible with both iOS and non-iOS devices.
“India is a vibrant and dynamic market, and we’re thrilled to deepen our connection with customers here through Shop with a Specialist over Video,” said Karen Rasmussen, Apple's head of Retail Online. “Whether someone lives in a metro city or a smaller town, we’re committed to making it easier than ever for them to access the incredible products, services, and support Apple is known for. Our team members are excited to connect with even more customers in India and provide them with exceptional service as they learn what Apple products suit their needs.”
The virtual assistance is available Monday through Friday, between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. IST.
iPhone 16 Lineup Available for Virtual Shopping
Among the key products showcased in these sessions is the iPhone 16 lineup. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max come equipped with Apple Intelligence, larger displays, upgraded pro camera tools, and graphics enhancements aimed at gaming and creative users. The new models feature Apple’s A18 Pro chip and a durable yet lightweight titanium build, with what Apple claims are the thinnest borders ever on an iPhone. According to the company, the iPhone 16 Pro Max also offers the best battery life of any iPhone to date.
More Ways to Shop
This latest feature complements Apple's broader retail ecosystem, which includes in-store sessions, online assistance, and personalised recommendations through the Apple Store app. Programs like Today at Apple continue to support customer education and engagement, while features like this video shopping tool are designed to make Apple’s products and services more accessible—especially to customers in regions where physical stores may not be nearby.
With India’s e-commerce space growing rapidly, Apple’s latest step aims to combine digital convenience with its trademark support experience.
