Apple Expands Retail Presence In India, Plans First Hyderabad Store

Apple is turning up its retail presence in India, with the tech giant announcing plans to open its first Apple Store in Hyderabad. Hurd moved after Apple recently confirmed that it would open a second store in Mumbai and reflects the iPhone maker’s growing emphasis on India. Apple is reportedly already hiring key team leaders, suggesting a ramp-up to what will be its sixth branded store in the Land of the Gadgets and another bold move in shaping its direct-to-consumer sales strategy.

Apple’s Retail Footprint in India

Apple already has five fully fledged branded stores across key Indian cities. The latest store opened in December 2025 at DLF Mall of India, Sector 18 Noida and became the second Apple store in Delhi NCR.

Apple Store Hiring Begins in Hyderabad

Apple has uploaded three new jobs on its careers website here, advertising for positions in its retail division in Hyderabad. The firm is reportedly recruiting for several positions, such as Manager, Senior Manager and Store Leader, Indicating intentions to set up its first Apple Store in the capital of Telangana. The location and opening date have not been announced yet, but this would be Apple’s sixth store in India.

Key Responsibilities Highlighted in Job Listings

- The Senior Manager will lead Store Managers and oversee recruiting, training, and retaining a “high-performing team”. ”.

- Active participation in floor leadership with regular interaction with team members and customers.

- Candidates must have prior experience managing teams in retail, sales, or related fields.

- The Store Leader will focus on building and leading teams while supporting customers in a “dynamic environment”.

Second Apple Store in Mumbai Coming Soon

During a recent quarterly earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed that a second Apple Store in Mumbai will open “soon”. While no timeline or exact location was shared, reports suggest it could be located at the Oberoi Sky City Mall in Borivali. Apple’s first Mumbai store has been operational since August 2023 at BKC, where Cook attended the opening ceremony amid large crowds of fans.
