iOS 18 Public Beta Update: Cupertino-based tech giant Apple has announced the second public beta build of iOS 18 for testers. Users enrolled to try out the build can install the second iteration of the public beta. The rollout comes two weeks after the release of the first public beta build. Enrolled testers can install the beta version by heading to the Settings app. These users can head to General, choose Software Update and download the beta package.

According to 9To5Mac, the features are on similar lines as the developer beta 4 update. It brings new wallpapers for CarPlay. Users can choose dark mode for widgets even in light mode. The update also includes a new redesigned Hidden apps folder. As for the Camera, a 'Controls Menu' has been added in the Settings. With the update, Rich Communication Services (RCS) texting standard is expanding to more carriers.

With the update, the new flashlight UI has expanded to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. Meanwhile, Apple also introduced the iOS 18.1 beta update for developers with Apple Intelligence on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The AI features include writing tools, enhancements in the Mail app and more. Developers can join the waitlist to try out Apple Intelligence features from Settings.

The company has also released the iOS 17.6 update for stable build users. While no major features were added to the build, the update brings bug fixes and performance improvements. The update brings a Catch Up feature (as a part of the MLS Season Pass) in the TV app which allows viewers to catch up on action by watching a series of clips and highlights.

On a related note, Apple seems to be paying more attention to iOS 18 and adding new features in the beta builds. The iOS 18.1 beta has received the much-awaited call recording and transcription feature on iPhones.
