Apple iPad 2024 Launch Expectations: It has been a while since the company refreshed its iPad lineup. While rumours pointed hints at a possible launch in March in the early days, these gradually moved to April. In the latest series of delays, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman now reports that the company has shifted the release date to May second week.
According to Gurman's Power On newsletter, Apple fans can expect the release of the latest iPads in early May. The tech giant could introduce the iPad Pro, iPad Air, Magic Keyboard and an Apple Pencil. The journalist added that Apple Stores are gearing up for the marketing materials for the new devices.

Gurman points out the delay from the anticipated March release is because of the complex screens on the new models. This year, the 'Pro' model is tipped to get an OLED screen. The major update will likely also increase the starting price of the models. The Bloomberg correspondent further said that Apple is working on a low-end iPad and iPad mini. These may launch by the end of this year.

The low-end model could be a "cost-reduced version" of the 2022 10th-gen iPad. The iPad mini is reportedly gearing up for a processor upgrade. Moreover, the company is also planning foldable iPads for the future. While the process is in the early stages, the company is working to make foldable screens without a crease.
Coming to the iPads that may launch in May, the iPad Pros this year could get an OLED screen with thin bezels and an M3 processor, among notable upgrades. The iPad Air could arrive in two screen sizes and have an M2 chip. The upcoming Magic Keyboard could have an aluminium build and a larger trackpad. Moreover, the Apple Pencil may offer a new 'squeeze' gesture. Both models may have the front camera in landscape orientation. You can read more on this here.
