Apple’s Push Toward In-House Modem Technology

The files supposedly referenced unreleased iPhone hardware in testing. The leaks indicate that Apple is planning to use its own cellular modem from the C1 series in at least one of its next-generation iPhones, a move away from outside modem suppliers.

For Apple’s upcoming Pro lineup, the picture is a little less clear. Apple is testing the C2 modem and C1X for iPhone 18 Pro, according to internal references. This implies the company hasn’t committed to anything finalised yet, which is about as much as you could expect at this stage of development.
