Apple has announced that it has introduced Maps in public beta on the web, taking on Google and enabling customers worldwide to access Maps straight from their browsers. English-speaking users may now access Apple Maps online, which works with Edge and Chrome on Windows computers and Safari and Chrome on Macs and iPads.

According to the business, Apple Maps users may find amazing locations, obtain driving and walking instructions, and access helpful information like hours, ratings, and reviews. The users are able to take actions like ordering food directly from the Maps place card; and browse curated Guides to discover places to eat, shop, and explore in cities around the world.

The manufacturer of the iPhone announced that other functions, such as Look Around, will be accessible in the upcoming months."All developers, including those using MapKit JS, can also link out to Maps on the web, so their users can get driving directions," added Google.

According to Apple, more platforms, languages, and browsers will be supported in the future. With this change, Apple Maps now faces direct competition from Google Maps, which has been around for a while.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 series is expected to launch in September with a bigger battery, standard A18 bionic chipset and bigger display. The iPhone 16 Pro series is also expected to get the new Capture button. Not only that, the iPhone 16 Pro series is expected to support the AI features with the new iOS 18 chipset. It will come packed with Apple Intelligence features.

Not only that but the iPhone 16 series is rumoured to be completely redesigned, with the iPhone 16 getting vertical cameras. The iPhone 16 Pro series will feature a redesigned titanium chassis with a less scratch-prone body and a sturdy and aesthetically pleasing design.
