Apple to launch AI in India expected date and time: Apple CEO Tim Cook recently confirmed that the company’s AI-powered suite, Apple Intelligence, will officially launch in India in April 2025. This marks a significant development in bringing AI capabilities to Apple’s devices in the country, which had previously been limited to a few features, such as the Clean Up tool. During Apple’s latest earnings call, Cook shared that the rollout will support multiple languages, including "localised English to Singapore and India." As a result, iPhone, iPad, and Mac users in India will soon be able to access a range of AI-driven tools, such as Writing Tools, Smart Reply, and even integration with ChatGPT.
This move perfectly sits with Apple's vision of focusing more on India, as it is an essential market for the tech giant. Cook reiterated that Apple posted record-high sales in India when it comes to iPhone during the December quarter. " As India is "the second-largest smartphone market in the world and the third-largest for PCs and tablets,". India has become a key region for Apple and its plans for expansion. To solidify its ever-growing presence Apple has also confirmed plans to open four new stores in India, to add to its growing retail footprint.

In response to a query about the company’s success in emerging markets, Cook said, "We have great results in a number of emerging markets, and as you know from past calls, particularly keen on India. India set a December-quarter record during the quarter, and we’re opening more stores there, we’ve announced that we’re going to open four new stores there. The iPhone was the top-selling model in India for the quarter, and it’s the second-largest smartphone market in the world and the third-largest for PCs and tablets, so there’s a huge market, and we have a very modest share in these markets, and so I think there’s lots of upside there, and that’s just one of the emerging markets."
This Apple Intelligence's launch in India is part of a larger global expansion plan for the AI suite, which will be available in these languages as well, namely "French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and simplified Chinese." Additionally, localised English versions of Apple Intelligence will be rolled out in both Singapore and India.
Apple’s new CFO, Kevan Parekh, also emphasized the company's strong performance in emerging markets, particularly in India. He pointed out that companies like Zomato, a leading food ordering and delivery platform in India, have adopted Apple’s devices, deploying thousands of Macs across their workforce to enhance innovation.
Just in case you didn't already know, Apple Intelligence will be available only on the iPhone 16 series and iPhone 15 Pro models. These AI features are not currently available to the Indian audience, but the feature can still be accessed by changing the default regional setting to a language that currently supports Apple Intelligence. To access it all you need to do is go to Settings>General>Language & Region, then select English(US) or any other language that supports it. This little adjustment will allow their device to recognize the required language for Apple Intelligence features to function.
