APPLE WWDC 2023: The Cupertino-based tech giant has announced the new iPad OS 17, macOS Sonoma and the highly anticipated watchOS 10 at the mega-conference today. The new OSs come with big enhancements for the users. Here is a compilation of the changes showcased in the three OSs.
iPadOS 17: Interactive Widgets
iPadOS 17 now comes with interactive widgets. Along the lines of the iPhone, Apple also announced a personalised lock screen. Plus, the company has also announced Journal, the journaling app on iPad. Further, the lock screen now supports Live Activities. In FaceTime, a user can drop a video/audio message whenever a call request goes unanswered.
Moreover, the Health app and enhancements to PDF editing and Notes were revealed. Lastly, Apple also announced live stickers in Messages.
iPadOS 17 Release Date: The update is already available as a developer beta and will roll out "this fall."
macOS Sonoma: New Game Mode
With macOS 14, users can add widgets on their desktops and utilise screensavers as wallpapers. Among the top highlights is the new "Game mode" that prioritises gaming performance over other things. Further, users can now add web apps in Dock. The update is already releasing for beta developers. Plus, the public availability of the new OS on Mac models will debut in the coming months.
watchOS 10: The 'Milestone'
watchOS 10 was previewed at the event with redesigned apps and a new user interface. As leaked by rumours, widgets have been relaunched in the Smart Stack on the new OS. Mental health was also at the centre of attention this time. Plus, the company is also adding new cycling features. And, like every major OS update, watchOS 10 comes with two new watch faces - "Palette and Snoopy."
