APPLE'S WWDC 2023 is just a few days away now, and we have seen enough leaks about the possible launches of much-hyped AR/VR headset, xrOS, iOS and more that could take place at the mega event. Among the highly-anticipated ones include the unveiling of watchOS 10 with significant changes, hints Mark Gurman from Bloomberg.

According to 9To5Mac, the first beta version of watchOS 10 will roll out for developers on the same day, followed by a public beta release in July. And a stable release in September. Moving on from the release timeline, here is a compilation of what we expect from the new watchOS 10.

WatchOS 10: New Widgets

According to Gurman, Apple would reintroduce widgets with watchOS 10 and make it a "key part" of the OS. The new enhancements will have a design statement similar to widgets on iOS and iPadOS. It would enable wearers to access data on weather, calendar, track activity and more.

Remapped Digital Crown

Further, Apple could remap the button on the Apple Watch and change the Digital Crown behaviour to open new widgets UI instead of the traditional home screen array.

New Redesigned Apps

Apple is also redesigning the entire core apps catalogue to optimise and better utilise the big display on the flagship Apple Watch Ultra and other watches.

A Journaling App

While media reports are confident that Apple is developing a new journaling app for iOS, considering the eco-system connect, we could witness integrations of the same in the Apple Watch.

Folders On Home Screen

A tipster on Twitter claimed in the past that the new OS could support folders on the home screen, according to a 9To5Mac report. Further, Bloomberg reported that Apple is working on 'mood and emotion tracking' options. These could be fused inside the new Apple Watch OS.

Meanwhile, coming to recent updates, the company introduced watchOS 9.5 with Pride Celebration watch face. Meanwhile, Apple will launch kick off the Worldwide Developers Conference on June 5 in Cupertino.
