THE ROG series has always been associated with performance, gaming and multitasking ever since its debut in India. We are not an exception to the fact that the gaming and creator communities have always had something to say about the series. The updated ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 2023 edition, which is more expensive than ever, was just delivered to us.

While there are a lot of interesting aspects of this loaded beast, let's talk about the performance first:

ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 2023 Performance

Well, the specification sheet of the laptop does have a lot of things that may definitely bring some shine to the eyes. Intel 13th gen H series processors, which support DDR5 RAM that can clock up to 5200 MHz, are definitely a treat to gamers, and this time they sport a great display, which we will talk about in the next section.

Well, the changes do give it a performance advantage over the M16 from last year. We have been able to play games like Forza Horizon 5 and the OG CS:GO, thanks to the most recent GPU and the second-most powerful CPU on the system with 24 cores. We were able to regularly clock frame rates above 200 fps, and the laptop appeared reliable. Overall, I enjoyed gaming on this beast.

The laptop was also used by our editor to edit some videos and render out a 4K video, and once more, we can say that everything went without a hitch. However, if you get to play some games on the highest settings, the thermals can occasionally become an issue. It could get as high as 55-56 degrees, but the performance remains unaffected. On the other hand, the keyboard also warms up sometimes.

A stunning 16-inch QHD+ Mini-LED display with a 240Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 1100 nits is included with the M16 2023. The 3ms response rate, which is yet another benefit to gamers, is something else that deserves to be mentioned. The display has also received Pantone Validation with Dolby Vision.

In layman's terms, the laptop boasts a stunning display that can produce brilliant, detailed colours as well as greater viewing angles, making video streaming more immersive. Despite having 6 speakers (4 x 1W woofers and 2 x 1W tweeters), the overall sound experience was a little disappointing given the category.

The M16 comes in only one colour, Off Black, and has a streamlined, futuristic design. The body of the M16 is built of mag-alloy while the cover is aluminium. The edge of the lid is finished with space grey anodized shine. The lid itself is embellished with an ROG nameplate and either the updated AniMe Matrix or a Dot Matrix design with a monochrome film underneath. Overall, the design is of excellent level.

The laptop has a sizable 90Wh battery and a 280W adapter, which together can power the device for at least an hour and an additional 15 minutes if you're multitasking, playing games, or using the laptop heavily in general. According to the statistics, the battery is adequate for a gaming laptop.

Verdict

Overall, the M16 receives a slew of new worthwhile upgrades that have significantly improved performance, display, and other aspects. However, if you don't have any budget constraints and are looking for a performance beast that can get the job done, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 is a worthy upgrade.
