Samsung’s next flagship lineup, the Galaxy S26 series, might not arrive as early as expected. For years, the company has stuck to a consistent launch cycle, introducing new Galaxy S models in January. However, according to fresh reports, the upcoming Galaxy S26 series is facing development roadblocks that could push its global debut to March 2026.

A report from Tech Maniacs suggests that Samsung is encountering issues specifically with the base Galaxy S26 model, which has caused the entire lineup’s schedule to shift. The company hasn’t officially revealed the exact reason behind the delay, but it appears the challenge lies in refining the hardware or optimising performance for the entry model.
Interestingly, the Galaxy S26 Ultra—the top-end variant in the series—has reportedly completed its development phase. It’s expected to feature a 10-bit display, offering improved colour depth over the 8-bit panel on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Powering the device will likely be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with up to 12GB of RAM, while the standard variants are rumoured to come with Samsung’s own Exynos 2600 chip.
Adding another twist, reports now suggest that Samsung might drop the “Pro” branding for the base model. What was initially believed to be the Galaxy S26 Pro could simply launch as the Galaxy S26, indicating a simplified lineup strategy.

If the reports are accurate, Samsung will be breaking from its long-standing January release window for the first time in years. The two-month delay could give the company extra time to fine-tune its base model, ensuring a smoother global rollout when the Galaxy S26 series finally makes its debut in March 2026.
