Nubia's gaming-focused sub-brand Red Magic has launched its latest flagship smartphones, Red Magic 11 Pro and Red Magic 11 Pro+, at a hardware launch event in China. The series is a big step forward for the company, as it includes, for the first time, liquid cooling along with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip for premium gaming performance.

Premium Configurations and Colours

The Red Magic 11 Pro has Dark Knight and Silver War God colour options, with two configurations to choose from—12GB+256GB and 16GB+512GB. The lower variant is priced at CNY 4,999 (approximately Rs. 62,000), while the premium one is priced at CNY 5,699 (approximately Rs. 70,000).

Red Magic 11 Pro+ takes it a step ahead with three colour schemes—Deuterium Front Transparent Silver Wing, Deuterium Front Transparent Dark Night, and Dark Knight. It comes in four models, ranging from 12GB+256GB (CNY 5,699) to a whopping 24GB+1TB (CNY 7,699, approximately Rs. 95,000).

Display and Build

The phones have a 6.85-inch 1.5K screen with a 144 Hz refresh rate and a 95.3% screen-to-body ratio, which provides great use for immersive gaming. The screen has Star Shield Eye Protection 2.0, Magic Touch 3.0, and Wet Hand Touch. Red Magic also boasts the use of X10 luminous material, enhancing efficiency with 10% reduced power consumption and 30% more screen life. An in-display 3D ultrasonic fingerprint reader provides rapid and safe unlocking.

Performance and Cooling

The core of the Red Magic 11 Pro series is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, supported by up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The phones feature a dual "Wind and Water" cooling system, which leverages air and fluorinated liquid cooling—a first in the brand's offerings. The Active Cooling Fan 4.0 is said to reach 24,000 rpm, providing thermal stability even during prolonged gaming periods.

It is powered by Red Magic OS 11, supported by the Cube Game Engine 3.0 as well as an inbuilt PC game emulator for console-level performance.

Camera and AI Features

On the camera side, the phones have a 50MP main camera with OIS and a 1/1.55-inch CMOS sensor. AI features run beyond camera work, with offerings such as AI object recognition, an AI writing assistant, AI Circle to Search, and an AI tactical coach to improve game strategy.

Battery and Connectivity

It is powered by an 8,000mAh "Bull Demon King" battery that supports 120W wired and 80W wireless charging. Red Magic states the internal fan also enjoys IPX8 water resistance. Additional features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, three microphones, two speakers, a 360-degree antenna, and an 0815X-axis linear motor for haptic feedback.
