Krafton is rolling out its Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) 4.0 Update, and this one is shaping up to be the spookiest update of the year. Titled Spooky Soiree, the version introduces ghostly companions, eerie game modes, new weapons, and special collaborations that promise to change the way you play.

BGMI 4.0 Update Download Date and Time

As per reports, the BGMI 4.0 update will be available for download on September 11 at 7:30 AM IST. Players will need to update their game from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to access the new features.

Spooky Soiree Themed Classic Mode

The highlight of the update is the Spooky Soiree Mode, set inside a haunted mansion with your very own ghost companion — Ghostie.

Ghostie’s Abilities

Ghostie isn’t just spooky décor; it comes with unique skills that directly impact gameplay:

  • Floating Balloon (Main Skill): Turns into a balloon, letting you fly across the battlefield.
  • Guardian Shield (Main Skill): Transforms into a giant shield to block and even ram enemies.
  • Armorer (Passive Skill): Repairs your armor, with upgrades boosting repair speed.
  • Ghost Helm (Passive Skill): Reduces headshot damage when idle or under attack.
  • Scan (Passive Skill): Marks enemies, revealing nearby foes.
  • Boost (Passive Skill): Increases sprinting speed.
  • Heal (Passive Skill): Provides healing and assists with reviving teammates.

Prankster Ghost Mode

Even after being eliminated, you won’t have to sit idle. Players can respawn as a Prankster Ghost, equipped with energy-driven skills:

  • Bomb: Become a moving bomb that explodes, dealing AoE damage.
  • Scan: Mark a player so their location is visible to all.
  • Shield: Transform into a damage-blocking shield.

Note: Ghost skills will unlock gradually, starting two weeks after the update, so don’t expect them all at launch.

New Weapons and Adjustments

The BGMI 4.0 update also introduces new weapons and gameplay tweaks:

  • Mortar: A heavy-hitting explosive weapon with both close-range and long-range targeting.
  • Weapon Revamps: Stocks and foregrips have been rebalanced for more precise shooting.

Path of Glory and Honors

Players can look forward to upgraded Ace Dominator rewards and exclusive honors under the Path of Glory progression system.

New Game Mode: Asymmetric PvP (Unfail)

BGMI 4.0 spices things up with a 1v4 Asymmetric PvP mode called Unfail. Here’s how it works:

  • Predator: Wins by eliminating all survivors.
  • Survivors: Must escape via the Exit Gate to claim victory.
