What is Causing the WhatsApp Web Bug?

Some of the tech enthusiasts have noticed that the bug is triggered when users open the stickers or emoji panel in the WhatsApp web bug. Some users even reported that a temporary bug fix is to refresh the page, however, it is important to avoid triggering the bug to keep the experience smooth until a fix/patch is rolled out.

The issue is not completely new, there are some old Reddit posts from last year describing the similar issues. Users complained of random scroll jumps or chats freezing mid-navigation. There were some workarounds shared by people: Resizing the window, and scrolling while pressing the ‘Alt’ key while scrolling.

As of now, Meta has not released any official statement on this issue. Even earlier this year WhatsApp suffered an outage where thousands of users reported that messages were not getting delivered. Some even encountered the issue while uploading and logging in to the app. So this is not something new, but users need to wait for the fix to be released for getting the best experience.
