BSNL has introduced a new prepaid offer that aims to bring back price-conscious users who want dependable data, calling, and SMS benefits without stretching their budget. The new Silver Jubilee plan lands as one of the more aggressive offerings from the state-run operator, especially at a time when private telcos continue reshaping their entry-level pricing.

BSNL Unveils Silver Jubilee Prepaid Plan

The Silver Jubilee plan is priced at Rs. 225 and carries a straightforward 30-day validity period. Subscribers get 2.5GB of 4G data each day, after which speeds drop to 40kbps under BSNL’s fair usage policy. Alongside data, users also receive unlimited local and STD voice calls and 100 SMS messages per day, positioning this plan as a high-value pick for those who rely heavily on daily allowances.

How to Recharge or Activate the Plan

Existing BSNL customers can recharge through the BSNL web portal or the SelfCare app. New users, however, will need to visit a BSNL retailer or a Common Services Centre. These centres also handle SIM activation, bill payments and other public utility services, making them accessible touchpoints for customers who prefer offline support.

Silver Jubilee FTTH Plan Expands the Portfolio

Before this prepaid launch, BSNL introduced the Silver Jubilee FTTH broadband plan. At Rs. 625 per month, the fibre plan bundles 2500GB of high-speed data at up to 70Mbps. It additionally includes access to over 600 live TV channels, with 127 premium television options, and entertainment perks through Hotstar and SonyLIV.

BSNL Seeks Momentum After Subscriber Dip

The new plans come at a crucial time for the operator. Recent TRAI data showed BSNL losing around 0.2 million subscribers in April, along with a larger decline of 1.8 million active users. To counter the slump, BSNL has been rolling out targeted plans and promotional offers aimed at bringing back lapsed customers while keeping existing users engaged.
