Fans of Call of Duty won’t have to wait much longer before the release date for Black Ops 7 finally arrives this week. Developer Activision has confirmed preloads are now also live, meaning you can download the game files in advance of the global release.

As with earlier entries, Black Ops 7 offers an explosive combination of cinematic storytelling, online multiplayer combat and a brand new instalment in the popular Zombies mode — with all-new visuals and gameplay refinements enhanced by next-generation gaming advancements. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming release, including preload times and supported platforms, pricing and availability on Game Pass.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 — Release Date and Availability

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s official release date is set for November 14, 2025. Global launch for PC, Xbox and Playstation.

As a huge win for subscribers, Black Ops 7 will also launch on day one to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, delivering one of the most significant launches in the history of the service.

Preloading Details and File Size

The preload before the release of Black Ops 7 started on November 10, so players could buy an intimate even for the huge game. The preload went live at:

- 9 AM PT

- 12 PM ET

- 5 PM GMT

- 4 AM AEDT (Nov 11)

The download sizes will be hefty — some 150GB plus, depending on your platform and edition. Meanwhile, players are being kindly asked to clear out some room and make sure they have a strong internet connection ahead of launch day.

Early Access and the “New Zealand Method”

Some players might resort to playing ahead with the infamous “New Zealand method”, where you change your console or account’s region profile in order to get access to the game based on whatever time zone sees it drop first.

This may let you sneak in a few hours before the official launch, but Microsoft and Sony do not endorse this method and it can result in account or region-lock problems. Activision advises that players should hold off until their geographical unlock to avoid issues.

Game Pass Launch — A Big Win for Subscribers

Massive news for Xbox players: Black Ops 7 will launch on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass the moment it’s out. That just extended the new title instantly to millions of players who don't have to buy the product, right?

Although changes were made to the Game Pass pricing in recent months, the service is still one of the least expensive and most convenient ways to play AAA game launches.

What to Expect from Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Though Activision has been tight-lipped when it comes to campaign specifics, first teasers suggest a return to the roots of the franchise, mixing:

- Cinematic, story-driven missions

- Fast-paced competitive multiplayer modes

- The comeback of the fan-favourite Zombies experience

Expect all the better visuals, slicker performance and more realistic gameplay that’s been promised for new-gen consoles, which is set to be a big step forward for the franchise.

Whether you’re a first-time player or a seasoned veteran, one thing is certain: on November 14 at midnight local time, the Modern Warfare universe will be reimagined.
