JE Technology Desk: Infinix is reportedly planning to launch a new smartphone in an all-new GT series next month in India. And taking to Twitter, noted tipster Mukul Sharma claimed that the device will "look very similar" to the newly launched Nothing Phone (2). Reacting to this update, Carl Pei, Nothing CEO, shared on the platform that he plans to get lawyers ready with a laughing emoji.
Sharma (@stufflistings) posted a render of the upcoming smartphone sourced from the Infinix Community XClub. In the image, the camera and a ring cutout are visible, which might have LEDs like the Phone (2). Considering the popularity of the budget phones of Infinix, it would be interesting to see how the device will be priced if all these developments materialise.
"The device will look very similar to the recently launched Nothing Phone (2), but will definitely be priced much less. Appears to be a gaming-oriented smartphone," Sharma added. He adds that the smartphone will launch in August and will be cheaper than the Nothing counterpart. It may also have gaming-centric features. Replying to the tweet, Pei tweeted: "Time to get the lawyers ready!" with a laughing emoji.

While all this was happening on Twitter, a reader must note that Infinix has not given any official hints about whether the handset is in development. However, going by the image, we can wildly speculate that the device might have a dual camera setup and a charging indicator similar to the Nothing Phone (2). Considering the tipster's word that it will be "priced much less", we cannot comment on wireless charging yet.
For the unversed, Nothing Phone (2) was unveiled as the successor to the company's first mid-range smartphone - Phone (1). It was launched on July 11 and comes with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. It offers a transparent back design with a more mature Glyph Interface and an enhanced Nothing OS 2.0 software.
