AI feature Circle to Search, which grabbed eyeballs at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event, where the South Korean tech giant announced the Galaxy S24 series, will only be available to Samsung and Google Pixel flagships till Q3 of 2024. Created in collaboration with Google, the feature also started rolling out for the Pixel 8 series handsets recently.

The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra were among the first handsets to get the feature. Samsung Newsroom Netherlands confirmed that these features will be exclusive to Google and Samsung devices until September. Media reports, citing Samsung's statement, claim that the feature may arrive on other Android smartphones in October 2024.

Plus, the company added that no active development is in the works at the moment. "Circle to Search may become available on Android devices from other brands from October 5, 2024, but there are no active developments underway," the company said. However, users must note that the AI-backed feature may still be available on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z series foldable smartphones, Google Pixel 8a, which could launch in May.

The October timeframe will likely coincide with the launch of the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro. "This functionality [Circle to Search] will only be available on Samsung and Google devices until September of this year," the press release noted. Circle to Search allow users to search for anything that is present on your device's screen without switching apps.

After a long press on the navigation bar or home button, users can circle, highlight, scribble or tap on an object to know more about it using Circle to Search. Users can also type in their query in the search box to refine their search. You can read more about the feature here.
