Galaxy AI: Samsung showcased a host of AI features at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event, with "Circle to Search" being one of them. The new feature was the result of the company's partnership with Google to introduce the feature on the latest Galaxy S24 series. Circle to Search allow users to search the web without switching any app and just simple gestures (including circle, highlight, tap or scribble) to get more details on the highlighted subject on a phone's screen.

Samsung shared a demo of the feature at the launch event of the S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra, adding that it will be available on all three models. According to Google, this can help users get more information on a topic using the above-stated gestures while staying in the last-used app. The tech giant added that ads will appear in dedicated slots in results.

"Circle to Search can help you quickly identify items in a photo or video. Relevant ads will continue to appear in dedicated slots throughout the page," Google said. Eligible users can long press their home button or navigation bar to activate the feature. For instance, users can circle a bag, tap on shoes and more to explore shopping websites which might offer the product or its similar alternatives.

Users can "swipe away" to head back to the pre-Circle to Search UI on their smartphone. Building on the feature, the company also allows for multisearch to search via text and photos simultaneously. For instance, after users encircle the product they wish to know more about, they can type in their query in the Google search bar at the bottom to refine relevant results. Beyond images, you can also scribble on text in pictures to learn more about the term or the topic.

Google added in its blog post that Circle To Search will debut on January 31 on "select premium Android" handsets. The company has highlighted that the Google Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra models will get the feature in supported languages and regions.
