New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Facebook on Friday introduced a dedicated 'News' tab on its social media platform to highlight the most relevant news stories of the day. The new move aims to shed its reputation for misinformation and promote high-quality journalism. The new feature which offers people more control over the stories they see and explore a wider range of news interest is currently being tested in the US.
News articles will continue to appear in Facebook's news feed and under dedicated 'News' tab the top story will be chosen by a team of journalists. It will allow personalisation based on stories that you read, follow and share. You will also be able to dive deeper into business, entertainment, sports, science and tech section.

As per Facebook, the company aims to serve people with news publishers and people and not just big players. " In the digital age, we want new forms of journalism, including individual, independent journalism, to flourish. We will continue to expand the algorithmic selection of stories driving the majority of Facebook News," the company stated.
