Google Bard, the tech giant’s ChatGPT competitor, which is known for doing a variety of different tasks can now understand what is there in YouTube videos. The chatbot will now be able to understand the content and can answer your about what’s happening in the video and even your detailed questions. For instance, if you are planning to make Biryani, Bard can suggest the recipe and steps to follow to make a delicious one.
The company has introduced the feature as a Bard Extension and is already linked with Google’s services like Gmail, Drive, YouTube and more in order to offer more personalised responses. Not only that, Bard will now be able to offer summaries and answer specific questions about the video.
With this feature, the company aims to offer more convenience by making the information more accessible and interactive. However, the feature will not be completely error-free and is expected to make some blunders. Bard already misinterprets some prompts and makes mistakes while providing information.
"We're advancing Bard's comprehension of YouTube videos to the initial stages. Google says in the Bard changelog. "We've heard you want deeper engagement with YouTube videos," it continued. “Therefore, in order to enable more in-depth discussions with Bard over certain video content, we are developing the YouTube Extension to comprehend it,” it concluded.

The blog post also said that the platform is currently testing the Ask Questions section and it will be limited to the YouTube Premium Subscribers. It means that YouTube Premium users will be able to get their hands on features like video summaries, recommend related content, and offer additional information churned out the videos.
