Google Bard, the search giant's competitor to OpenAI's ChatGPT and Microsoft Bing, is now getting "respond in real time" option that generates responses in real-time to a query. Most Large Language Models (LLMs) comprehend the information before returning a response for a query. This causes a delay in text generation.
According to 9To5Google, while the speed of comprehending these responses remains the same, Bard will now display the text generated in real-time line-wise, unlike the previous form of display once complete. These "responses will show in real-time while in progress" after the chat model completes loading the colourful sparkle animation.
The second method for real-time responses remains the "show once they're complete," which is faster than the new option, according to the report. In case you want to switch modes, you can head to the settings and change the option.

Secondly, if you think Bard is generating irrelevant responses, you can press the "Skip response" button above the text box. It will stop the model midway, and you can enter a new prompt or regenerate the response. Once done, if you are not satisfied with Bard's answers, you can either view other drafts or modify the answer to sound more "professional" or "casual" besides double-checking details from Search, according to The Verge.
Added a few days ago, the Updates changelog does not reflect the new changes. The new settings are similar to how Microsoft's Bing AI responds to user queries. On a related note, Bard also received an option to let users view uploaded images in shared chats.
Plus, it can summarise more emails in one go if used from Google's email service - Gmail. Bard is the search leader's answer in the AI race ignited by ChatGPT last year.
