Microsoft has already changed the way how people perceive the search with Bing AI. While Google is still trying to catch up with the tech giant with its Gemini (formerly Bard) it seems that it will still take some time. In the latest reports, the company is reportedly working on the addition of Gemini to its popular Chrome browser.
Soon, Gemini, which can be used for writing emails, codes, articles, and other things, will be incorporated into Chrome to enable easier search operations. In order to simplify access to Gemini without requiring a website visit, Google is reportedly adding the "Chat with Gemini" shortcut to the Chrome address bar, as per a report by Windows Report. To test the latest upgrades, developers and testers can access the functionality through the Chrome Canary. According to the report, there appears to be an issue with the service, and users may notice a new option in the address bar menu that tells them to "Type @gemini to Chat with Gemini."
It is expected that Google may take some time to introduce the feature in the normal Chrome version. Those who really want to use the feature can download the Google Canary. Do note that these features are temporary there are chances that you may see some disruptions while using it.
Meanwhile, Google is also anticipated to add the Gemini to its flagship Pixel 8 series soon. This comes after the company stated that the on-device Language Model (LLM) would be coming to Pixel 8. The devices may receive the Gemini Nano. Furthermore, reports suggest that the Pixel 8 may receive Gemini in preview and may include features such as Summarise in Recorder and Gboard Smart Reply. The features are stated to be limited for individuals who want to create bullet point summaries based on audio recordings, whereas the Gboard Smart Reply will provide higher-quality smart replies.
