Google Meet, one of the most used video conferencing platforms is now getting a variety of new AI-powered features for making your meetings more easier. The new update comes with a slew of new features including automatic recording, transcription, and AI-generated meeting summaries through its Gemini add-ons, as promised at the Google IO 2024. Here’s everything you need to know about the Google Meet new features.
1. Automatic Recording:
The new feature will ensure that you never miss important meetings. The feature can be enabled from the Meet video settings and will automatically record all your meetings, giving partnerships to review the session later. The feature can be disabled as well if there are any privacy concerns.

2. AI-Powered Transcription
Google Meet is also offering Automatic Transcription, powered by Gemini. The feature will allow users to get a real-time transcript of the meeting. It will help in getting all the important details or specific points for later preference. This feature can also be disabled.
3. Gemini-Powered AI Meeting Notes
The Gemini Add-Ons with Google Meet offer an additional tool that will automate the note-taking. The users can get AI-driven summaries, and key pointers from the meeting, giving a glance of what has happened during the meeting. The feature is especially helpful for those who get distracted from long meetings and can check the pointers or important highlights after the meeting. The feature is rolling out to the Google Meet users and users may need approval from the admins to use these features if they have organisational accounts.
