Google has announced that ‘Google Messages’ have now reached a milestone of one billion in a blog post on Thursday. In celebration of the milestone, the California-based tech giant has announced 7 new features for the users which will bring on a new level of creativity and customisation to the messaging. Here is the full list of new features.

1. Photomoji: Use on-device Google AI to turn your favourite pictures into dynamic reactions. Now you can incorporate your customised Photomojis into group chats to give your discussions a special touch.

2. Voice Moods: Nine distinct moods are now available for your voice messages, each with accompanying visual effects to add emotion. An enhanced audio quality is also added which guarantees a more pleasant and clear messaging experience.

3. Screen Effects: Now you can see your messages come to life with colourful animations that are set off by particular cues. Google urges users to explore this visually immersive feature to find over 15 hidden screen effects.

4. Custom Bubbles: Customise your conversation bubbles with distinct colours and backgrounds to make it easier to distinguish between chats and prevent inadvertently sending messages to the incorrect people.

5. Reaction Effects: Use animated reactions to up the ante in your chat room. Emoji responses that are lively and expressive can liven up your conversations.

6. Animated Emoji: Transform emoji expressions into something truly remarkable by incorporating visually striking bursts. Every animated emoji gives your messages a colourful, lively touch.

7. Profiles: Personalise the name and photo that appears with your phone number on your profile. This feature is especially helpful for group chats because it ensures participant clarity even when the number of participants is unknown.
