Pixel 8 series smartphones now have an official launch date in October. Google has sent invites to media professionals confirming the release date of the upcoming Pixel portfolio, which will likely include the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel Watch 2. While several rumours have already tipped the specifications of the handsets, it is now confirmed that Google is preparing for its next 'Made by Google' event that will go live on October 4.

The news comes hours after an image of the upcoming device was leaked accidentally via official channels. Here are all the details to give you a better idea about the speculated details of the upcoming Pixel phones.

Google Pixel 8 Pro Specifications

According to reports, the Pixel 8 Pro will likely arrive with a 6.7-inch OLED screen with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of up to 1600 nits. It is tipped to have a flat display compared to the curved one on its predecessor - Google Pixel 7 Pro. Under the hood, the device may have the new Tensor G3 chip. It will likely run on Android 14 on top of a clean Pixel experience.

As for the optics, a 50MP primary with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), 64MP ultra-wide and a 48MP telephoto lens could sit on the back of the phone. On the front, the Pixel 8 Pro may have a 10.8MP camera. Moving to the battery, the device may have a 4950mAh battery that may support wireless charging.

Speaking of extras, a temperature sensor on the phone may be available on the Pro model. It will likely sit inside the camera island on the back.

Google is anticipated to launch the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones at the event. Besides the Pixel 8 series, the company may also announce the Pixel Watch 2 on October 4. No details on the price of the Google Pixel 8 series are available via the leaks channels. But we can wildly speculate it may sit in a similar price bracket as its predecessors.

The announcement comes days after Apple announced the date of its September event. The Cupertino-based tech giant will likely announce new Apple Watch series and Airpods besides the highly-anticipated iPhone 15 series phones on this day.
