Honor is clearly done playing safe. With the new Win H9 and Win H7, the brand is stepping straight into serious gaming territory, and this time it actually feels intentional.

These are not just spec-heavy laptops thrown into the market. You can see Honor trying to build something that competes with proper gaming machines, not just lifestyle laptops with a GPU.

Pricing And Availability

The Win H9 is positioned as the flagship. It starts at CNY 11,999 for the Core Ultra 7 with RTX 5060, and goes up to CNY 18,499 for the top-end Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus with RTX 5070 Ti.

The Win H7 is more accessible, starting at CNY 9,199 for the Core i7-14650HX with RTX 5060, and going up to CNY 10,999 for the RTX 5070 version.

The Win H7 is already on sale in China. The Win H9 will be available between May 6 and May 10, with early offers and subsidies expected to bring prices down a bit.

Displays That Actually Matter

Both laptops come with a 16-inch 2.5K display and a 16:10 aspect ratio, which is great for both gaming and everyday work.

The difference shows up in refresh rate. The Win H9 goes up to 300Hz with full DCI-P3 colour support and 500 nits brightness. This is clearly built for high-end gaming. The Win H7 offers up to 180Hz with 100 percent sRGB. Still good, just not as aggressive.

Performance Focus Is Clear

This is where Honor is trying to stand out. The Win H9 runs on Intel Core Ultra 7 251HX or Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processors, paired with RTX 5060, RTX 5070, or RTX 5070 Ti GPUs. The Win H7 uses the Core i7-14650HX with RTX 5060 or RTX 5070 options.

Both laptops support up to 32GB DDR5 RAM and 1TB SSD storage, which is more than enough for gaming and heavy workloads. Honor is also adding its YOYO Assistant and system-level optimisation tools, though it is still not very clear how useful these AI features will be in real-world use.

Design And Daily Usability

The Win H9 looks and feels more premium. It gets RGB keyboard lighting and dual microphones. It is slightly heavier too, going up to around 2.38kg.

The Win H7 is simpler and a bit lighter at around 2.27kg, which makes it easier to carry around. Both laptops come with dual speakers, a 1MP webcam, and full-size keyboards.

Ports And Connectivity

No major complaints here. You get Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, USB-C, multiple USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, and a headphone jack.

The Win H9 also includes Thunderbolt 4, which gives it an edge for people who need faster data transfer or external GPU support.

Battery And Charging

The Win H9 packs a 92Wh battery, while the Win H7 comes with an 80Wh unit. Both support fast charging. The H9 goes up to 60 percent in 30 minutes, while the H7 reaches 70 percent in the same time.Battery life claims sound good for office use, but gaming will obviously drain it much faster.
