IMC 2023 Live Updates: The 7th Edition of the IMC 2023 kicked off at the Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on Friday. In his inaugural speech at the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared insights into the technological progress of India and the steps to foster efforts to use technology as an enabler.
According to CNBCTV18, the PM emphasised Google's move to manufacture Pixel devices in the country while stressing that premium flagships like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Apple iPhone 15 are already manufactured in India. He stated that India is the 2nd biggest mobile manufacturer currently and exports electronics worth two lakh crores.
To take this success forward, a robust semiconductor manufacturing arm in India is required, and an 80,000 crore PLI scheme in this direction is in the works, PM Modi said. He also stated that the government prioritises access to tech resources and capital for citizens.
