JE Technology Desk: Meta's photo-sharing app Instagram was down for hundreds of users in India, according to Downdetector, an outage tracking platform (at 03:22 PM). While the graph has subsided in India, the outage graph continues to rise in the United States, with over 700 reports at 11:18 PM. A majority of the outage is centred around the app. Users on Twitter complained of problems while loading the Feed on Android and iOS.

Among the around 200 outage reports (at around 3:10 PM), 41 per cent of users faced issues with the app, 34 per cent reported problems with server connection, and 25 per cent faced problems during login. Twitterati has been adding context to the outage plaguing the Meta app. Users report issues while loading the feed and the appearance of the prompt that highlights "Page isn't available right now" in the app on Android and iOS. "This may be because of a technical error that we're working to get fixed. Try reloading this page," the error message reads.

As the red graph of the outages continues to rise, the company has not issued an official statement yet. In the United States, over 500 reports of outages have been reported. On the expected lines, Twitter has been buzzing with responses since last night. Here are a few latest ones.

Speaking of the latest outage, instant-messaging app WhatsApp also witnessed a massive outage globally on July 20 at around 02:00 PM, with over 16,000 reports in India. In the United States, these numbers were 45,000+, according to Downdetector. Sharing an update on the service the Meta-owned app's Twitter handle posted: "and we're back, happy chatting," at 02:36 PM.
