Photo-sharing platform Instagram is among the popular revenue drivers for Meta. To ensure the experience remains interesting for users, the company adds new features at regular intervals. In a recent move, the company is working on the capability to let users experiment with upcoming features in early access via the Settings page.

While users can already join the beta program from the Play Store to try out new features, this new option will allow a secondary method to test out experimental features. According to mobile developer Alessandro Paluzzi, Instagram is working to let users get access to experimental features from the app itself.

Paluzzi also shared a screengrab on X (formerly called Twitter) which states users may get "Early access to features" within the "Settings and activity" page. The feature could allow users to experiment with features in a similar manner to Google Search Labs and YouTube Experiments, according to Gadgets360.

Besides this, Meta also plans to bring AI into the platform to improve the user experience. The developer added that the social media giant is working on the option to let users create themes for chats using artificial intelligence. A 'Create with AI' option around Pickleball, Snack Party, and Minecraft is visible in the screengrab. With the feature, users may get the capability to personalise their chats with a unique backdrop.

Meanwhile, the company was recently spotted working on a 'Peek' feature to let people "Share little moments". The process will likely involve a single tap to click the photo and send it without applying any edits or filters. These may only be viewed once. According to the Paluzzi, the feature was earlier spotted in testing with the name "Quick Snap". Reportedly, the company is also working on features to create 'Music highlight', public Reels playlists and a Reels feed filter: Riffs.
