Instagram has been adding a slew of new features and now the photo-sharing platform owned by Meta. Just like integration of the artificial intelligence and a new handful of tools, Instagram now finally allows users to download the Reels directly from the application. The users will not need any third-party websites.
Till now the users required a third-party website and were asked to copy-paste the link of the post and then after seeing some adverts, they were able to download the content. But in the special move, Meta has offered a dedicated downloading option in the application which will remove the one extra step and let the users download the video in high-resolution settings.
If you are also wondering how can you download your favourite reels from Instagram in your smartphone’s gallery, here are simple steps:
1. Go to Instagram and Open the Reel you want to download.
2. Simply tap on the Share button present on the bottom right side
3. You will see a lot of sharing options. Scroll down and you will see a dedicated ‘Download’ button.
4. Hit the download button and the platform will automatically save the video in your gallery, that too in high resolution.
Later you can share it with your friends, family, colleagues and others using different social media platforms like WhatsApp, Messenger, or more.

With this feature, Meta aimed to enhance the user experience and protect the users from fake third-party websites, which are capable of stealing some personal information. However, Meta still does not allow users to download the images from the platform. The company has not even announced any plans to roll out such a feature at the time of writing this article.
