Instagram, a social media platform under the Meta umbrella, is pushing the boundaries of creativity and user engagement with a new "sticker creation" feature currently in testing. This feature, once launched, will enable users to transform their photos into custom stickers for use in both Reels and Stories.
Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, recently provided a preview of how this unique feature will work. In an exciting video that he posted to his broadcast channel, Mosseri illustrated the potential benefits that users might expect from this feature.
Mosseri clarified, saying, "We're testing a feature that lets users create personalised stickers out of photographs to use in reels and tales. You can use your own photos from your camera roll or pictures that meet the requirements from Instagram to make stickers."
Using cutting-edge technology, the new feature allows users to selectively identify the subject of a photo and seamlessly eliminate the background, creating a sticker that appears to float. With this new move, the company aims to help the creators on the platform and increase the user experience.
For those unaware, the feature is currently under development and users can expect it coming for a public rollout in the coming weeks.

Instagram is also exploring the addition of polls to user posts' comments sections, in addition to the "sticker creation" tool. Content creators will now have another way to engage with their audiences and increase engagement thanks to this new tool. On his broadcast channel, Adam Mosseri revealed the test and mentioned that soon, users would be able to add polls to the comments section of both Reels and regular feed articles.
"We're launching a small test in which you can add a poll or vote on one in the comments of a feed post or reel. We're always looking for new ways to connect with friends and creators," Mosseri said.
