Cupertino-based tech giant Apple is expected to announce iOS 18 software this month for eligible iPhones. The update is expected to sport Apple Intelligence features, which may gradually start arriving with the first .1 update on eligible iPhones. However, notable enhancements such as AI-powered Siri and Genmoji are tipped to arrive with the second major point update in December, 9To5Mac reported.

For context, Apple has shared a "later this year" timeline for the Apple Intelligence beta release. While we are weeks away from the possible launch of the first iOS 18 version, here is what you can expect from the second major update, which is tipped to bring notable Apple Intelligence features.

iOS 18.2: What To Expect

Tweaked Mail App: The new Mail app is expected to debut with a new design and categorisation option later this year. It may get other notable changes with future updates too.

ChatGPT-Powered Siri: Apple CEO Tim Cook noted in a recent earnings call that the ChatGPT integration with Siri via Apple Intelligence will arrive before the "end of the calendar year". However, the all-new Siri experience is not expected until the iOS 18.4 update.

Genmoji: First showcased at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024, the feature is yet to make a mark in the beta builds. Genmoji is expected to arrive later this year with the iOS 18.2 update, the report added.

Controls for Robot Vacuum Cleaner: Apple's Home app may bring controls to manage robot vacuum cleaners with the update.

Default Browser Selection Screen (EU): Apple is expected to show the interface to let users select a default browser in the EU soon with the update. This might pop up once in a year and while setting up the device.
