Apple is all set to introduce new Apple Intelligence features for the iPhone 15 Pro series and iPhone 16 series users with iOS 18.1 update. Not only that, the iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 updates will also bring AI features to iPads and Macs. Here is the list of features that you can expect from the iOS 18.1 update.
1. Writing Tools:
Apple will be introducing advanced writing tools for users which include real-time proofreading, spelling and grammar checks, and sentence restructuring. It may also include the Rewrite tool which will help users in adjusting the tone of the sentence. It may include Friendly, Professional, and Concise options.
2. Siri Gets Smarter
The Apple Intelligence feature may bring Siri contextual awareness including the follow-up questions. It will also bring the glow up on screens when activated. It will also be able to answer device-related questions, according to MacRumors.
3. Mail and Messages Overhaul
The Mail and Messages app will now have AI features. The Mail section will have a new summarise button which will show the crux of the emails including the time-sensitive messages. The Messages application will also get smart replies, summarisation features making communication easier.
4. Photos Get a Boost
Apple will also add a Memory Maker option to Photos, making the memory videos more customisable using the prompts. It includes a natural language search to find specific images or moments. Clean Up feature will also be added to the application for removing unwanted objects.
5. Focus Modes and Notification Summaries
The new Reduce Interruptions Focus Mode prioritises important alerts and filters away distractions. Notifications from many apps are summarised for a neater, more manageable interface, and transcription summaries assist users in managing recordings efficiently.
iOS 18.1 Release Date:
The iOS 18.1 update is expected to roll out on October 28, as per MacRumors. Apple Intelligence features are currently available in beta in the US. Users in other countries including India will have to wait for a few more months.
