USB Type-C Port

Touted as one of the highly-anticipated changes, all iPhones launching this year may have a USB Type-C port for charging and file transfer instead of the Lighting port. Moreover, the 'Pro' models could offer faster data transfer speeds than the vanilla and 'Plus'.

A17 Bionic Processor

The new processor on the premium devices could be called the A17. This 3nm chip will likely offer better performance and improve battery backup, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, a reliable name for Apple-linked updates.

Periscope Lens

Apple could upscale the megapixels of the telephoto and ultrawide lens on the back of the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, the journalist claims. Further, the 15 Pro Max may sport a periscope lens with 6X optical zoom.

Action Button

The Mute Switch is reportedly going away, and an Action Button could take the vacant space. This new hardware will likely be capable of performing functions such as opening the camera app, turning on the flashlight, opening Siri and more.

Slimmer Bezels

According to Mark Gurman, Apple is using Low-Injection Pressure Overmolding (LIPO) technology to achieve almost one-third of bezels compared to its predecessors.

As for the changes in the build quality, the Cupertino-based company will reportedly transition to titanium from the stainless steel materials for the frame. It will have a brushed finish with slightly curved edges. The change will make the phones lighter and more durable. With all these upgrades in mind, the company may also increase the prices of the Pro models.

Besides this, an upgraded 'U2' ultrawide-band chip for better accuracy and improved output with location services could be there. The model may arrive in four colours: white, dark blue, gray and black. On a related note, for updates on the expected changes on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, head to this report.
