iPhone 17 Series: When it comes to smartphone launches that are yet to take place and are highly anticipated, the buzzword is Apple's iPhone 17 series. This time it is expected for Apple to do something new with its famed flagship devices. We have already witnessed the launch of iOS 26 in a recent event, where Apple decided to change the naming convention of its software updates from iOS 18 to iOS 26, which basically is a year+1 style naming scheme.

So now all eyes are on the new devices. What Apple has done with its software updates might as well be replicated in the upcoming new devices as well. We might witness a change in the name of the devices this time, although this is not official, but looking at how Apple is moving forward this year, it could be a possibility.

Expected Hardware Specs

Apart from that, there have been leaks and rumours telling us about the hardware that the Cupertino-based tech giant may introduce this time. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), @theapplehub has showcased the expected specs of the iPhone 17 series smartphones, sourced from Fixed Focus Digital.

When it comes to the iPhone 17 base variant, it is expected to come with the all-new A19 chip with 8GB RAM; the highly anticipated iPhone Air might sport an A19 Pro chip which encompasses 5 cores and 12GB of RAM, and both the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to house A19 Pro chips with 12GB RAM each.

Expected Camera Specs

Apart from the specs under the hood, the design is also expected to get revamped, especially when it comes to the camera module. The Air version is expected to have a single-camera setup, and the base iPhone 17 variant might have a basic dual-camera setup in a capsule shape; this is what the rumours and leaks have told us so far. But when it comes to the high-end variants, they are expected with a much bigger overhaul, and the camera module might go for a drastic change. Their camera module might sport what looks like a rectangular bar kind of design above the logo. 

This year’s iPhone 17 Pro is expected to feature a 48MP triple-camera setup, with the telephoto lens reportedly getting a boost from 12MP to 48MP, possibly enabling up to 3.5x optical zoom.

Rumors also suggest support for 8K video recording and the inclusion of a mechanical aperture. On the front, the selfie camera may see a significant upgrade as well, moving to a 24MP sensor.

AI And Other Expectations

Apart from the hardware, AI is also expected to take centre stage this time, and the A19 chips are expected in the new devices to take care of all that heavy workload from AI and the whole ecosystem is expected to get an AI boost with the all new iOS 26.

Now, we must tread carefully with this information, as nothing is confirmed by Apple as yet, and most of them are rumours and leaks, but as we get closer to the launch, more details will come out, and it surely will be very exciting to see what Apple has in store this time.
