iPhone 17 Series: If there is any smartphone that is making a massive buzz right now, it's the iPhone 17 series smartphones. This year, by far, we have seen a lot of launches taking place from Samsung to Vivo and Nothing; all have come out with their respective flagships this year. Now all eyes are on the Cupertino-based tech giant and the iPhone 17 Series lineup. If Apple decides to keep this name, a change in names wouldn't be surprising, as we just witnessed Apple changing the names of its iOS support across all devices to iOS 26, so a lot is on the table that is expected this time.

Here we are going to compare the iPhone 16 Pro with the expected and rumoured specs of the iPhone 17 Pro and see how the leaks stack up against the previous version.

Expected iPhone 17 Pro Specs And Features Compared

Performance & Memory

The iPhone 17 Pro is expected to be powered by the new A19 Pro chip, a step up from the A18 Pro in the iPhone 16 Pro. RAM also gets a boost, with 12GB compared to the 16 Pro’s 8GB, which should enhance multitasking and AI-driven features. Apple Intelligence integration will likely run more smoothly with this upgraded configuration.

Display & Design

iPhone 17 Pro is expected to feature a 6.3-inch OLED display with 120 Hz ProMotion, offering smooth visuals and vibrant colours. The design remains largely the same, continuing the aluminium and glass build seen on the 16 Pro.

Camera Upgrades

Apple is raising the bar with a 24MP front camera on the iPhone 17 Pro, doubling the 12MP selfie camera found in the 16 Pro. On the back, the triple 48 MP rear camera setup remains, but the iPhone 17 Pro introduces new capabilities like 8K video recording and dual video recording, adding flexibility for content creators.

Cooling & Battery

Arguably the biggest upgrade is vapour chamber cooling on the iPhone 17 Pro, which will be able to keep it at peak performance levels when put under heavy usage. Battery life should be better, and 50W MagSafe charging represents a major improvement from the 27W cap on the iPhone 16 Pro.

Connectivity & Launch

The iPhone 17 Pro will come with Wi-Fi 7, which is faster and more stable than the Wi-Fi 6E on the 16 Pro. The device is expected to launch in September, continuing Apple’s usual release cycle.

New Colorways Expected

Apart from these specs, there are also rumours of new colourways that Apple might introduce with the new launches this time. Dark Blue and Orange are the ones that have generated a lot of buzz. According to a post on X (Twitter) by @SonnyDickson, the camera lens protector's colours have been leaked, and it is anticipated that these protectors will have the same colour as the phone itself. This is something that would be exciting to see.
