iPhone 17 Pro Max: Apple is said to be cooking up some major upgrades for its next flagship, the highly anticipated iPhone 17 Pro Max, which is expected to release this September along with the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and new addition to the line — the iPhone 17 Air.

If leaks are anything to go by, Apple could even abandon the "Pro Max" branding altogether, opting instead for "iPhone 17 Ultra". Although Apple has not yet officially confirmed any of this, a number of details about the look and features of the phone are already emerging online.

A New Design for the Pro Max?

The iPhone 17 Pro Max will reportedly receive an entirely new camera island, one that may look like Google's Pixel series. Rumors indicate that the LiDAR sensor, the microphone, and the flash may relocate to the right edge of the module, providing the back with a new look.

Apple might also abandon the titanium frame introduced with the 15 Pro series, and stick with aluminium instead, probably to save weight and money.

Display, Performance, and Camera Enhancements

On the front, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumored to have a 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion capabilities — i.e., a silky-smooth 120 Hz screen refresh rate. Inside, the phone should be driven by Apple's latest A19 Pro processor, accompanied by up to 12GB of RAM, and come with iOS 19 pre-installed.

As for the cameras, the leaks suggest a 48 MP triple rear camera setup and a 24 MP front shooter. Apple could also provide a vapour cooling chamber for enhanced thermal performance — something that's increasingly prevalent in top-end phones.

Battery and Charging

Battery life is also anticipated to receive a minor boost, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max said to feature a 4,685 mAh battery cell. Along with Apple's typical optimisation, this might translate to appreciably improved battery life.

Anticipated Price and Availability

If Apple is to follow its traditional timeline, the iPhone 17 series — featuring the Pro Max or "Ultra" — will reportedly be unveiled around September. Indian prices are estimated to begin at around ₹1,44,900 for the flagship model.

Of course, all of this is predicated on preliminary leaks and rumors, so best to wait for Apple's official word. Nevertheless, if these speculations hold true, the iPhone 17 Pro Max may be one of the most anticipated iPhones in recent years.
