Here’s the thing. iPhone 17 barely shipped, and now we’re already seeing meaningful iPhone 18 Pro leaks that hint at where Apple is steering its next major cycle. Colour leaks usually look like fluff, but in Apple’s world, they always signal direction: what materials are being tested, what finishes Apple thinks feel “premium” in the context of future hardware, and how that aligns with a new device identity. The more interesting part is that these leaks match perfectly with Apple’s expected design and silicon overhaul for 2026 — the year Apple’s AI era becomes native, not bolted on.

New Pro Colours (Rumoured)

According to Instant Digital (Weibo), iPhone 18 Pro is testing three fresh options:

- Burgundy

- Coffee

- Purple (returning, new tone expected)

Two of these (Burgundy and Coffee) have never existed on any iPhone before.

The leak also claims no pure black Pro model — again consistent with Apple’s historical avoidance of true black finishes because they’re extremely difficult to coat consistently.

Display + Face ID Direction

Expected specs so far:

- 6.26-inch LTPO OLED

- 1.5K resolution

- HIAA (Hole-in-Active-Area)

- Under-display Face ID

- Only the front camera remains visible

This would be Apple’s first genuinely clean front panel.

A20: the Chip That Matters

iPhone 18 Pro is expected to ship with the A20 on TSMC’s 2nm N2 process.

And crucially — leaked notes point to WMCM packaging (SoC + DRAM stacked closer).

This directly benefits on-device Apple Intelligence:

- Lower power consumption

- Lower heat

- Higher sustained inference performance

This is not cosmetic. This is Apple redesigning the base layer for AI.

Launch Staging (Rumoured)

- Fall 2026 → iPhone 18 Pro, 2nd gen iPhone Air, iPhone Fold

- Spring 2027 → standard iPhone 18 and 18e

Bottom line

The colour leak is just the visible part.

Underneath that, iPhone 18 Pro looks like the first iPhone built from the ground up for Apple Intelligence — not the retrofit we’re seeing now.
