JioPC, a cloud-based virtual desktop service, has been launched by Reliance Jio for JioFiber and Jio AirFiber subscribers. The service’s purpose is to provide a full PC experience without a physical computer. Users only need a Jio set-top box, a keyboard, a mouse, and stable internet to virtual desktops powered by Jio’s servers.

Starting Tuesday, the date of the service’s launch, users can access a virtual computer for free for the first month. Customers can test out the service without risk of immediate payment and only pay later if they subscribe. According to the report, the app is automatically installed in Jio devices, so users can easily access the service.

JioPC Price and Availability

As previously reported, Jio set the JioPC price to start at ₹599 per month. Users looking for more flexibility to suit their requirements can take advantage of different subscription models:

  • 1-month plan – ₹599
  • 2-month plan – ₹999

As a limited-time offer, long-term plans provide bonus access:

  • 6-month plan – ₹2,499 (includes 8 months of access)
  • 12-month plan – ₹4,599 (includes 15 months of access)

All prices listed are without GST. Users can subscribe directly through JioFiber or AirFiber accounts.

JioPC Features and Specifications

The JioPC platform aims to provide an immersive experience similar to that of a conventional computer, within a cloud-based ecosystem where both the processing and storage functionalities are performed by Jio's servers. Noteworthy features are as follows:

Operating System: Ubuntu Linux distribution

Hardware (Virtual): Quad-core CPU, 8GB RAM, and 100GB of cloud storage

AI Tools: Integration with productivity tools, including Adobe Express Premium, and other AI-powered features

Security: Network-level security to protect against malware and viruses

Since JioPC's architecture is cloud-based, users only need to have a Jio set-top box with a mouse and keyboard to access the system.

How to Access JioPC

Getting started is simple:

1. Open the JioPC application from the Apps section on the set-top box.  

2. Tap on the Get Started button and ensure a mouse and keyboard is attached.  

3. Enter the mobile number linked to the JioFiber or AirFiber subscription to log in.  

4. Complete the steps as prompted on the screen to configure the virtual desktop.  

Once you activate, you can store up to 100GB files in the cloud storage. So you can access them from any compatible device.
