Xbox maker Microsoft revealed a host of gaming updates in the Official Xbox podcast on Thursday. The tech giant assured its avid fans that the company is invested in its future hardware. Plus, the firm also said that it will introduce four exclusive Xbox titles on the PS5 and Nintendo Switch in the future. Sarah Bond, President of Xbox, stated that the upcoming hardware will offer the "largest technical leap".
According to Bond, the company will share some details "this holiday" about the upcoming updates. Further, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer shared with The Verge that the staff is planning different kinds of hardware, which hints at multiple product launches. The report also spotted possibilities of an Xbox handheld. Spencer has been active on social media sharing hints about similar hardware. But, Spencer has himself admitted to the limitation of the Windows experience on small handheld screens.
On the other hand, Bond stated: "What we're really focused on there is delivering the largest technical leap you will have ever seen in a hardware generation, which makes it better for players and better for creators and the visions that they're building." Apart from hardware, the company also aims to expand its gaming titles beyond its exclusive Xbox devices.
"We're going to take four games to the other consoles," Spencer said in the podcast. While the official did not name the titles, the two are community-driven, and the other two are smaller games. As per sources cited by The Verge, the titles could be Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Sea of Thieves and Grounded. The company aims to learn from the experience and may plan to introduce more exclusive games to other competent hardware in the future.
