Microsoft Teams On Android Auto: Redmond-headquartered tech giant Microsoft has announced that it will launch its Microsoft Teams app for Google's Android Auto next month. The arrival of the workplace chat service on the platform will help boost Google's initiative to expand more apps apart from navigation and entertainment. Last year, the search giant announced that support for weather and other smart home apps will arrive on Android Auto.

The update comes after Google said (in 2023) that support for Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex will arrive soon. Zoom introduced Android Auto support in September last year. Cisco was quick to join the platform in beta. With the latest efforts, it seems Microsoft will soon fulfil the release commitment.

"Teams on Android Auto lets you easily join meetings from the calendar view, quickly call your speed dial contacts and see your recent calls on your Android phones," Microsoft said. The company added that the rollout will begin in February 2024. Microsoft Teams was added to the roadmap on January 4. The release phase will likely begin in general availability.

According to the description stated by Microsoft, it is unclear if messages will be accessible or not. For the unaware, Microsoft Teams has been available on CarPlay since 2021. According to the Play Store description, Microsoft Teams is the "only app that has communities, events, chats, channels, meetings, storage, tasks, and calendars in one place." Users can join audio and video calls, collaborate on documents and store files on cloud storage.

On a related note, the company recently introduced a new Copilot key for Windows 11 PCs, which marks a significant change in Windows PC keyboard in about three decades. "The Copilot key joins the Windows key as a core part of the PC keyboard and when pressed, the new key will invoke the Copilot in Windows experience to make it seamless to engage Copilot in your day to day," the tech giant added.
