Vivo has confirmed that its next foldable phone is coming to India. The Vivo X Fold 6 will be unveiled on October 6, when the company is also expected to launch the Vivo V80 and Vivo S2 FE.

Vivo has not announced the Indian price or the variants that will be available yet. However, the X Fold 6 has already gone on sale in China, so there is plenty of information about what the Indian model could bring to the table.

The phone has a large 8.02-inch foldable display, a 200-megapixel camera and a 7,000mAh battery. It is also powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super chipset.

Vivo X Fold 6 India Launch Confirmed

The X Fold 6 appeared in a Vivo India teaser shared on X ahead of the October 6 event. Vivo has not mentioned the phone's name directly, but the handset shown in the video appears to be the same book-style foldable that was launched in China in June.

The teaser shows the phone in a blue finish. It is not clear yet if this will be the only colour offered in India.

There is something else worth noticing in the teaser. Vivo appears to have included a mixed reality headset in the video as well. The company has not revealed what it is called or provided details about its hardware. More importantly, there is no confirmation yet that the headset will actually be sold in India. It could simply be a product Vivo wants to showcase at the event.

Vivo X Fold 6 Specifications

The X Fold 6's main screen measures 8.02 inches and uses an AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. A 6.51-inch display sits on the outside, allowing the phone to be used without unfolding it.

The processor is one of the newer MediaTek chips. Vivo has equipped the foldable with the Dimensity 9500 Super, with the company also highlighting its focus on AI and foldable-specific performance.

The Chinese model runs Android 16-based OriginOS 6 Fold. Vivo has not yet confirmed whether the Indian version will use the same software experience.

Photography gets plenty of attention too. Around the back, the X Fold 6 has three cameras, including a 200-megapixel primary sensor with OIS. The setup also includes 50-megapixel ultrawide and 50-megapixel periscope telephoto cameras. Zeiss has worked with Vivo on the camera system.

Then there is the battery. The X Fold 6 comes with a 7,000mAh cell, along with support for 80W wired charging and 40W wireless charging.

For a large foldable, the dimensions are relatively restrained. Vivo says the phone is 4.40mm thick when unfolded and weighs around 228g. For dust and water resistance, the device comes with IP58 and IP59 ratings

Vivo X Fold 6 India Price

The Indian price remains under wraps for now. The pricing in China for the X Fold 6 starts at CNY 7,999 for the 12GB+ 256GB storage variant. That's approximately Rs. 1,14,200 after a direct currency conversion.

At the other end of the range, the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage version costs CNY 10,999, which converts to roughly Rs. 1,58,300.

These conversions are only useful as a reference, though. The Indian price can be different once taxes, duties and other local costs are taken into account.

Vivo should reveal the India-specific pricing and configurations at the October 6 event. Until then, the Chinese pricing and specifications offer the clearest idea of what to expect from the X Fold 6 when it arrives in India.
