Xiaomi has launched two new tablets in China, the Xiaomi Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro. While both sit in the same series and share a few features, Xiaomi has kept a clear gap between the two when it comes to performance and hardware.

Both tablets have 3.2K screens with adaptive refresh rates going up to 144Hz. Peak brightness is rated at 1,000 nits. The standard Pad 9 gets Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, whereas the Pro version moves up to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. Both run Xiaomi HyperOS 4.

Xiaomi Pad 9 Price In China

The Xiaomi Pad 9 starts at CNY 2,999, which is roughly Rs. 42,800, for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model. The 8GB + 256GB version costs CNY 3,299, around Rs. 47,000, while the 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at CNY 3,799, approximately Rs. 54,000.

Xiaomi is also selling an 8GB + 256GB Soft-Light Edition for CNY 3,499, or about Rs. 49,900.

For colours, buyers can pick from Silver, Cloud Cedar Green, Black and Ice Peach Pink. The colour names have been translated from Chinese.

Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Price In China

The Pad 9 Pro starts at CNY 3,799, roughly Rs. 54,000, for the 8GB + 128GB version. Its 8GB + 256GB configuration costs CNY 4,099, around Rs. 58,500. Moving up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage takes the price to CNY 4,599, approximately Rs. 65,600.

The most expensive regular configuration, with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage, is priced at CNY 4,999, which converts to around Rs. 71,300. Xiaomi is also offering a 12GB + 256GB Soft-Light Edition for CNY 4,799, or about Rs. 68,400.

The Pro tablet is available in Silver, Cloud Cedar Green and Black. These colour names have also been translated from Chinese.

Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Specifications

The larger Pad 9 Pro has a 12.5-inch 3.2K display. Along with the 144Hz adaptive refresh rate, the screen can reach 1,000 nits of peak brightness.

Inside is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. There are some differences in memory depending on which version is picked. The 12GB and 16GB models use LPDDR5T RAM running at 9,600Mbps, while the 8GB variant uses LPDDR5X memory with a speed of 8,533Mbps.

Storage isn't the same across the range either. The 128GB version uses UFS 3.1, with the other variants moving to UFS 4.1 storage.

A sizeable 11,000mAh battery keeps the Pad 9 Pro running. It supports 67W wired charging and can also reverse charge other devices at up to 22.5W. Xiaomi claims up to 14.5 hours of short-video playback and as much as 20 hours of online meetings.

Xiaomi Pad 9 Specifications

The regular Pad 9 is more compact, with an 11.2-inch display. Resolution remains 3.2K, while the panel retains the 144Hz adaptive refresh rate and 1,000 nits peak brightness.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 powers this model. Battery capacity stands at 9,720mAh, with 45W wired charging and 22.5W reverse charging.

Xiaomi makes the same battery-life claims for the standard model, with up to 14.5 hours of short-video playback and up to 20 hours of online meetings.

Xiaomi Pad 9 Series Software And Stylus Support

Software is one area where the two tablets are on equal footing. Both come with Xiaomi HyperOS 4 and support several PC-class productivity applications, including WPS for Pad, Jianying Pro, PixelCake, ZWCAD and CAJ Reader. The app names have been translated from Chinese.

Xiaomi’s Super XiaoAI 2.0 AI assistant is included as well.

For people planning to use either tablet for drawing or handwritten notes, Xiaomi is offering support for its Focus Stylus Pro. The stylus is sold separately.
